Info about the piece

SPOR New Music School is a composition workshop for music and culture school students ages 12 to 16 in the Central Denmark Region. During SPOR Festival, they work with music in new and creative ways and take part in inventing music themselves.

With guidance from composition students from the Royal Academy of Music and professional musicians, the students explore new musical worlds, driven by their own imagination and creativity. This time, the focus is on the time we live in right now: A time shaped by digital platforms, social media, and AI. How can music recall the fundamental human nature, emotions, and thoughts in this new world? What does it sound like from the perspective of young people? And how do the artworks at ARoS inspire the theme to unfold in musical interpretations where the visual and the sonic merge into new expressions?

You can experience this when culture and music school students from the Central Denmark Region premiere entirely new compositions that they have created themselves for specific works in the exhibition HUMAN NATURE at ARoS Art Museum. It all comes together in a unique walking concert as we follow the soundtrack through the entire gallery, guided along the way by musicians from Ensemble NJYD. Experience students from the Skanderborg Culture School, Aarhus Music School, Den Kreative Skole in Aarhus, and the Horsens Music and Ballet School.
